Welcome to Nadya Mamoozadeh's Molecular Ecology LabEnhancing fisheries management and biodiversity conservation with genetic insights.
Our lab uses genetic and genomic tools to inform fisheries management and conserve aquatic biodiversity. We investigate how populations are connected across rivers, lakes, and oceans; monitor species distributions and population status; assess responses and risks to habitat change and environmental stressors; and evaluate the outcomes of management interventions. Working alongside agency partners, we prioritize actionable science that supports real-world decision-making. From freshwater streams to the open ocean, our research links molecular data with applied management to advance fisheries sustainability and biodiversity conservation.
